How To Edit Merch By Amazon Products After Publishing

Your Merch Artwork is locked: How To Edit Merch By Amazon Products After Publishing

Have you ever uploaded a design to Merch by Amazon only to discover that some of the products have been positioned and sized incorrectly?

Or maybe you have forgotten to add a background color to your popsocket, phone case, tote bag or pillow?

Fixing the problem is not straightforward as once a product is uploaded onto the database, Amazon locks the artwork.

The usual advice given online is to either to delete the design and start again. Or alternatively, deactivate the dodgy product and make a separate upload to replace it.

Unfortunately, while both these methods work, they create their own issues.

By using the first method you’ll lose any sales ranking and the alternative solution will cost you a design slot.

Thankfully, my solution avoids both problems.

Preserve your sales rank and design slots

In this article I’ll show you the simplest 5 step method of correcting your mistakes. There is no need to delete your whole design or waste another design slot.

This is the method I use on a regular basis in order to correct errors of concentration.

I’ll also give you a bonus tip at the end of the article that should help you avoid your edited product from being rejected.

So, let’s get into it.

Simple 5 Step Method

  1. Firstly, navigate to the Amazon Merch on demand manage page.
  2. Next, find your product/design using the search box. Only select the problem product, or products. Make sure you have selected “All Markets”.
  3. Click on the pencil/edit button of each affected product and click delete. Use the Productor chrome extension to do this in one click, by clicking on the delete product (dustbin) button. Repeat for all markets you have uploaded that particular product to, otherwise the hack is not going to work.
  4. Unfortunately, it is now a waiting game. It usually takes a few hours for Amazon to process the changes. Keep checking back to see if the design has become editable again.
  5. Finally, once the design is available to edit you can make the changes required and press publish.

Bonus Tip

Remember to delete the existing placement if you moving the design to the back or the front. Publishing with the design on front and back will get the upload rejected. If you want both, you must set the price appropriately.

And that’s it. Problem solved. You can now repair your upload mistakes without the usual stress!
